So i just saw a movie: "Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran" .
manz nice things in it, for examples actors: Omar Sharif, an episode role of Isabel Adjani... ;) and little (16) boy played by Pierre Boulanger. Nice story, based on novel with the same title as movie. I wish to read this novel - the french version... especially since it's a really long time i haven't read the text (that haven't been connected to any conference) in french. And when i read the resume of the movie i saw that's a story about the journey of the old man Ibrahim and young Jewish boy. I like movies about journey and i started to watch it with Dad. But he was a bit confused cause i said: "Dad i rent a nice movie, will you see it with me?" and the movie had started from the scenes when the Jewish guy living in (i guess if i know Paris well) in Marais is taking money from the piggy bank to be able to pay for the prostitute. He's 16 so it takes a bit to find one that will agree to go with him, but he finds one - Sylvie - and they are going to her place. :P quit confusing to watch such scences with Dad/ for him to watch it with daughter :P
anyway later it was a bit better later. Even my Dad had falled asleep (he was really tired) before the journey had started :P the film about the journey that had started a bit more that in half of a movie. but a nice movie, clever movie - even a bit simple. Monsieur Ibrahim is sufi man (sufist -such word does not exists - even the polish translator/lector said so :P). there is a nice journey through the turkey. including the dance of dervishes (do you spell this word this way?) and nice seen when Momo (the Jewish boy) is trying to dance like them when climbing the road in turkish mountains and the local boy is following his moves. A bit of sufi teaching/ philosophy... it's a nice movie.
a few shots from it for you:
